Introduction to Cybersecurity

Middle School

Ready for some fun and new challenges? Join us for a week-long, 1/2-day cyber camp that will introduce you into the domain of Cybersecurity.

You will work with a special distribution of Linux from an external drive that you will take with you at the completion of the camp.  Topics includ Linux, Python programming, IoT (Internet of Things) devices, controlling devices through the Internet/Cloud applications.  Since this is Cyber Camp, time will also be spent learning how to make everything secure and safe.

Additionally, you will spend time identifying and examining some common cyber-attacks--learning how to spot them, stop them, and defend against future attacks.

All the tools used in the class will be run on the external drive so you can apply your skills or learn more after you complete the class

Drone STEM Camps 2025

Drone STEM Camp information

8th - 12th graders (Co-Ed), July 21-25, 2025, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Build and operate drones.

     Register at Rising 8th - 12th Graders registration.

3rd - 6th graders (Girls only), August 4-8, 2025, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Fostering an inclusive learning environment.

     Register at Stem Camp for 3rd - 6th Grade Girls registration.

3rd - 6th graders (Co-Ed), August 18-22, 2025, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Emphasis on collaboration and building.

Facilitated by faculty from MSUB and City College, the summer STEM camps offer exciting opportunities for hands-on learning experiences that inspire future thinkers, creators, and problem solvers.

Each will be geared around building and flying drones!  Campers will explore the basics of electronics and programming while working towards building drones.  The camps provide a rich educational experience that includes high energy and fun activities.  On the last day of camp, campers will present their work to friends and families.

Registration cost:  $250
